How to get Started
Led Walks
The Walking the Way to Health Initiative in North Lincolnshire currently have Led Walks that are being run all over the county. All led walks are free and are no longer than 3 miles each.
All of the walks are led and supported by at least 2 trained walk leaders, one with first aid equipment. Everybody is welcome to join any of the walks. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day and find one of the walk leaders (they will be wearing a high visibility walk leader top).
The scheme provides a timetable of all the led walks available. These can be picked up at Local Links and North Lincolnshire Libraries. Alternatively, you can download the timetable from our homepage or contact us and one can be sent out to you.
1:1 Support
The Walking the Way to Health Scheme now has the resources to offer 1:1 support. If you would like to take up walking but need a little help to get you going, or you lack the confidence to walk with existing walking groups, 1:1 support is now available for you. Contact us for more information.
Walk with Friends Packs
If you like the idea of starting to exercise through walking, but would rather start your own walking group with friends and family, Walk with Friends Packs are now available. These packs are free of charge and include: tips on how to make your walking group more structured, a 12 week walking programme and 5 pedometers. Walking routes can also be produced for you.
All we ask is that you keep in touch with the Health Walks Development Officer once a month giving number of walkers, steps taken etc so we can measure the success of the Walk with Friends Packs. Contact us for more information.
