How to get Started

Led Walks

The Walking the Way to Health Initiative in North Lincolnshire currently have Led Walks that are being run all over the county. All led walks are free and most are no longer than 3 miles each (see walks timetable).

All of the walks are led and supported by at least 2 trained walk leaders, one with first aid equipment. Everybody is welcome to join any of the walks. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day and find one of the walk leaders (they will be wearing a high visibility walk leader top).

The scheme provides a timetable of all the led walks available. These can be picked up at Local Links and North Lincolnshire Libraries. Alternatively, you can download the timetable from our homepage or contact us and one can be sent out to you.

Walk Buddy (1:1 Support)

The Walking the Way to Health Scheme now has the resources to offer 1:1 support through the Walk Buddy scheme. Do you:

  • Want to take up walking?
  • Lack the confidence to walk in existing walking groups?
  • Have no one to walk with?
  • Lack the confidence to get more active?

1:1 support is now available! The scheme is provided to support people to get more active to enable them to walk more regularly in their own communities or to take part in led walks.

Participation in the scheme is FREE! To take part, all you need to do is contact the Health Walks Development Officer (Russell Cave) on 01724 297342.
